Valencia vs Villarreal Match Preview
Valencia host Villarreal for the second leg of their Europa League clash on Thursday looking to make it through to the semi-finals from an all-Spanish Quarter-final and capitalize on a tough 1-3 win earned at Estadio de la Ceramica, where only injury-time goals from Daniel Wass and Goncalo Guedes earned them the advantage.
Los Che have been in great shape lately, though, and we’ve seen them bag their fourth win in five outings as they beat Levante (3-1) over the weekend. They’ve been netting numbers of goals on the regular and only saw a 2-0 loss at Rayo Vallecano along the way, which should have them just as motivated now.
Villarreal put on a strong challenge but took nothing from it, only ending their winless streak with a 0-1 win at Girona on Sunday. They’ve struggled for such upsets on the road, though, and overturning the contest here on the back of it will be a very tough task for Javi Calleja’s men.
Yellow Submarine haven’t been able to retain defensive stability and this has proven costly last week as well, which has them chasing a two-goal lead the Valencian rivals snatched. They haven’t beaten Los Che with two goals since May 2017 (1-3 win here) and we don’t feel the visitors have what it takes to make it happen now.
We will thus go for Valencia to punch their ticket to the semi-finals with a win here, which comes at 78/100 with William Hill and has been rated the best approach to the fixture by many in the know already.
We do feel we’re in for another very interesting clash and Villarreal should be able to do their part in making it so, as we now also go for a high-scoring match and Over 2.5 Goals FT at 10/11 with bet365. We’ve seen three or more goals in both of the sides’ last two clashes, which does add to such a belief now.
