Valencia vs Deportivo Alaves Match Preview
Valencia host Deportivo Alaves for their Matchday 37 clash on Sunday desperate for points to challenge Getafe, holding better head-to-head records this term and only three points behind the 4th placed rivals. However, Marcelino’s men have struggled for consistency over the past couple of weeks.
Los Che have beaten rock-bottomed Huesca with six goals to two on the road and this was surely a great boost to their confidence. However, the Europa League exit in the hands of Arsenal (a 7-3 loss on aggregate) and four losses in their last five outings hardly feel as such.
Alaves will now hope to capitalize on such woes after seeing the rivals regularly scoring and conceding numbers of goals, but they’ve seen a very underwhelming spell of form themselves – without a win since mid-March when they beat Huesca (1-3) as well.
Babazorros have thus earned just three points in last eight outings, suffering five losses including a narrow beating by Real Sociedad at Mendizorroza proved enough for the visitors despite a resulting thriller. They will now want more in Valencia but getting it will be no easy task.
We do feel Alaves will now find the net but we expect Valencia with enough firepower to outgun then, as we go for a Home win and a Yes on Both teams to score at 2/1 with bet365 – which feels overpriced with the home side’s troubles at the back.
With that in mind, we find it easy to make a case for another high-scoring contest on Valencia’s end as we go for Over 2.5 Goals FT, which comes off as more of a banker bet at 8/13 with bet365 as Los Che enjoy such an approach to their fixtures lately.
