Turkey vs Moldova Match Preview
Turkey host Moldova for their EURO 2020 Qualifiers clash just days after their trip to Albania, as they look to end a four-match winless streak seen across competitions since October. They’ve struggled to score goals on the regular and Senol Gunes will have to find a cure if his men are to do so.
Indeed, Crescent-Stars haven’t found the net in any of those four occasions as they held Bosnia-Herzegovina and Ukraine to goalless draws in friendlies but suffered Nations League losses to Russia (2-0) and Sweden (0-1), which saw them drop to League C after the first term.
Moldova will seemingly not be the same sort of a challenge but we’ve seen the visitors pick it up through the Nations League, where they bagged two wins and three draws in six outings but still failed to challenge Belarus at the top of the Group 2 table. They have been tougher to score against and surely have a lot to prove at Yeni Eskisehir Stadyumu.
Alexandru Spiridon’s men have seen Kazakhstan (1-0) end such a streak in February and have a tough task to bounce back as they host dominant France on Friday, obviously desperate to show off their character despite rightfully being handed a role of heavy underdogs in Group H.
We will back Turkey to capitalize on such circumstances too and bag an important home win early in the competitions, sticking with them to win to Nil at 8/13 with bet365 – which has been rated buying money for old rope by many in the know.
However, we don’t feel it will be smooth sailing and a very one-sided contest as Turkey have struggled to score numbers of goals. With that in mind, we’re now also sticking our necks out for Under 2.5 Goals FT, which comes at 11/10 with Paddy Power and look like a good value at this point.
