Turkey vs Greece Match Preview
Turkey host Greece for their Friendly clash on Thursday evening, looking to build on their team spirits and keep up their winning streak ahead of the EURO 2020 Qualifiers clashes against France and Iceland in early June – which could largely show the direction their campaign will go.
Crescent-Stars have beaten Albania (0-2) and Moldova (4-0) in late March, as Burak Yilmaz and Cenk Tosun led the in-form attacking line to six goals in two outings. They thus sit behind France on the group H table only for their goal difference but Senol Gunes’ men have a lot to prove with the toughest tasks only looming.
Greece have, on the other hand, snatched an important point in Bosnia-Herzegovina (2-2) in March as second-half goals from Konstantinos Fortounis and Dimitris Kolovos secured a comeback from what seemed a disappointing occasion after Edin Visca and Miralem Pjanic opened the scoresheet within 15 minutes.
Ethniki have thus built on the 0-2 win snatched in Liechtenstein and earned four points in first two outings, as they now look to pick it up ahead of the important clash against Italy. They’re no strangers to upsets and will now surely want to show it in Antalya too, which promises a narrow occasion.
We will stick our necks out for Greece to show off such a character and leave unbeaten, as we now go for an enticing Double Chance – Draw or Away win at 10/11 with bet365 seeing Turkey have struggled for consistency with tough rivals.
We feel we’re in for few goals, though, and Ethniki will have to base such a success on a tough defensive display we feel. We’ll thus also go for a low-scoring contest and Under 2.5 Goals FT at 8/15 with William Hill – which has caught the eye of many as a banker bet.
