Turkey vs Albania Match Preview
Turkey have been in great shape and they top the Group H table with 15 points to their name, hosting Albania for their Friday’s clash with hope they can build on great September displays against Andorra (1-0) and Moldova (0-4) in an attempt to keep hold of the spot ahead of the trip to France.
Crescent-Stars have thus bagged seven wins in eight outings across competitions and only saw a narrow loss in Iceland (2-1) interrupt the winning streak. They’ve been rock-solid at the back and building on such character will be crucial for Senol Gunes – as Kaan Ayhan and Merih Demiral lead an in-form defensive line.
Albania come into the match on the back of a great confidence booster of their own, where they took the lead three times and beat Iceland (4-2) in a six-goal thriller in front of the home fans. They’ve been more unpredictable, though, and this could be more worrying for Edoardo Reja with high hopes of catching up with the top 2.
Red and Blacks have struggled for goalscoring consistency on the road and we’ve seen them suffer four losses in five trips across competitions. They’ve only beaten Andorra (0-3) along the way and causing a similar upset in Istanbul should prove much more of a task at this point.
We don’t see them making it happen and we’ll now rather back Turkey to turn another narrow occasion their way, going for a Home win to Nil at 21/20 with bet365. They’ve based their success on rock-solid defensive displays and this feels like further evidence for such a bet.
We have seen Albania struggling to score away goals on the regular and this also adds to such a belief, as we now also go for a low-scoring contest at Vodafone Park – with Under 2.5 Goals FT catching the eye of many big hitters already at 4/6 with Unibet.
