Toulouse vs Nice Match Preview
Nice travel to Toulouse desperate for consistency as they sit in the mid-table and struggle to close the gap to the top 4, now sitting seven points behind 4th placed Lille and spots leading to UEFA competitions next term. Their defensive woes kept them back and Patrick Vieira has to find a fix if his men are to make it happen.
Eaglets saw a disappointing home loss to Nimes (1-3) last week, where Alexis Claude Maurice found an early opener but it proved nothing but a consolation as the rivals levelled it late in the first half, completed a comeback early in the second, and made it comfortable in stoppage time. They’ve seen three straight draws on the road since mid-December and will hope for more at Toulouse Stadium.
Indeed, Toulouse sit rock-bottomed with just 13 points to their name and feel like a great opportunity to earn a confidence booster. They’ve seen 14 losses and a draw in their last 15 outings, which has many rightfully rating them the prime favourites to get relegated to Ligue 2 next term.
Violets have seen very narrow clashes against Strasbourg (1-0) and Marseille (1-0) in two outings last term but still failed to take anything from them, which will be just as worrying. They have been scoring more goals at home ground and Denis Zanko will want more in search of points that could reinvigorate his side.
We do feel Nice will prove too much for them to handle, though, and we’ll now stick with the visitors to snatch at least a point on Saturday – where going for a Double Chance – Draw or Nice to win feels like buying money for old rope at 1/2 with William Hill.
Neither of the sides really felt impressive up front and with that in mind, we’re also hoping for few goals at Toulouse Stadium. We’ll thus go for a low-scoring game with Under 2.5 Goals FT, which comes at 10/11 with bet365.
