Toulouse are a club still looking for their first major silverware having only won the second tier title three times in their history, although they have cemented a place in the top tier over the last few seasons. It hasn’t been easy maintaining that place for les Pitchouns though – they managed to avoid relegation on the final day of the season in the 2015/2016 campaign and two years later needed to win the relegation/promotion play-off fixture against Ajaccio.

This season they’ll be hoping to avoid all that drama and steer clear of the relegation fight developing towards the bottom of the table. As things stand at the half-way stage of the campaign, Alain Casanova’s men occupy a relatively comfortable 14th place after a couple of terrific results on the road, but home form still leaves a lot to be desired with just one win coming in their last nine matches. Olympique Lyonnais are out to finish in the top three this season as they look to cement their place in the Champions League. It’s been a bumpy return to form for Bruno Genesio’s men though.
