Tottenham vs West Ham Fansbet Preview

Despite West Ham’s woeful run, this could be a tricky one for Tottenham. Pochettino’s team are still trying to nail down a top four finish on the domestic front, however on Tuesday they take on Ajax in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final, arguably one of their most important games in recent memory.

Tottenham vs West Ham Match Preview

Tottenham Hotspur may be out of the Premier League title race but they are still in with a chance of silverware this season through the Champions League. The Lilywhites have beaten Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City to reach the semi-finals where they will take on Ajax in the semi-finals but before then, they must concentrate on qualifying for Europe’s top competition again next year.

A 1-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday evening saw Mauricio Pochettino’s side extend the gap over fifth-placed Chelsea to a more comfortable four points and with winnable fixtures against West Ham United, Bournemouth and Everton remaining, another top four finish is starting to look like a probability more than a possibility for Spurs. Three points here will go some way to confirming that at 42/100 with William Hill.

West Ham United have been one of several teams involved in a battle for seventh place this season and although that may seem a strange position to be chasing, with Manchester City expected to win the FA Cup Final, the remaining Europa League qualification spot in the Premier League will go to the team in seventh position so there is plenty of motivation for the likes of Watford, Wolves and Everton in these final weeks of the season.

And until recently, the Hammers were very much in the race but a poor run of form recently has seen them go four games without a win, picking up just one point from an available twelve and seeing the gap between themselves and Watford in seventh place be stretched to seven points, an almost insurmountable amount at this stage of the season. There will be no lack of motivation here though as they look to become the first away team to win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at 13/2 with Bet365.

West Ham have struggled for goals at times of late, drawing blanks in three of their last six Premier League games including defeats to Chelsea and Cardiff City. Tottenham meanwhile have looked much better defensively since returning the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, keeping clean sheets in all four of their fixtures at the ground so far this season. You can back them to win to nil again here at odds of 13/8 with Bet365.

Son Heung-Min has been carrying the mantle for Spurs this season with Harry Kane continuing to struggle with injuries. The South Korea forward himself has had to miss out on games due to international commitments, but he’s still managed to rack up 12 Premier League goals, plus vital strikes against the likes of Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. He scored twice in his last meeting with West Ham, October’s EFL Cup win, so we’re backing him to score again here at 8/11 with PaddyPower.
