Tottenham vs Aston Villa Match Preview
Tottenham have seen some tough clashes through their pre-season but still managed to keep up their goalscoring records, as they beat Real Madrid (0-1) and Bayern Munich (on penalties after a 2-2 draw) before falling victims to Inter in a similar 1-1 draw and a loss on penalties.
Mauricio Pochettino has a lot to be happy about, though, and Spurs will have ground to build on early in the new campaign with goals coming from all directions. They will have to regain consistency in front of the home fans if they’re to kick it off in good spirits and we do see them very motivated to impress.
Aston Villa have been rather convincing through their pre-season and while they’ve had a more lenient schedule, wins over Minnesota (0-3), Shrewsbury (0-1), Walsall (1-5), Charlton Athletic (1-4), and RB Leipzig (1-3) will surely be a great boost to their confidence despite conceding on the regular.
Villans have conceded a goal in each of their last three outings and this will be more worrying for Dean Smith, as Tottenham obviously pose more of a challenge than they’ve been used to lately. They have struggled to cause upset on their trips to London and we don’t see them doing so now either.
We will thus stick with Tottenham to secure all three points but we don’t see them doing so without a thriller on their hands, as we now stick our necks out for a Home win and a Yes on Both teams to score – which comes at 2/1 with Paddy Power.
We have seen both sides enjoy such clashes through their respective pre-season campaigns and going for a high-scoring contest now feels like buying money for old rope at 13/20 with Unibet – which has caught the eye of many in the know already.
