Tottenham Hotspur vs Bournemouth Match Preview
Jose Mourinho has already made a favourable impression at Tottenham and is expected to make it three wins in eight days when his new charges host Bournemouth.
For the first time since mid-April, Spurs have achieved two victories in a row – not in typical Mourinho style either, with 3-2 and 4-2 goalfests away to West Ham and at home to Olympiakos respectively.
The Special One has clearly galvanised the players and whether his predecessor Mauricio Pochettino would have done the same is a moot point. All that matters is that Mourinho is in charge now and you have to imagine he will revive Tottenham’s flagging fortunes.
This is an ideal fixture as they prepare for the hat-trick bid because as the info above illustrates, Bournemouth have a terrible record in this part of north London. The Cherries beat Spurs at home last season but that was right in between the two legs of the Champions League semi-final, when a turnaround was required and duly accomplished against Ajax.
Bournemouth have become an unpredictable side and although they are only one point behind Tottenham in the Premier League table, they have won just one of their last eight league and cup matches and are currently on a run of two defeats to Newcastle and Wolves.
It has not been a perfect start by Mourinho due to the four goals his team have conceded, but he is certainly enjoying a honeymoon period with Tottenham which we think will continue with his most emphatic success so far.
