Sweden vs Malta Match Preview
Sweden host Malta for their Matchday 3 clash on Friday evening looking to build on the solid start and four points earned in their first two outings, where they beat Romania (2-1) in front of the home fans and snatched a point in a six-goal thriller in Norway (3-3) in a tremendous showdown late in the match.
Blagult have indeed struggled to keep it together at the back and this has proven a problem, despite making it to UEFA Nations League A last year and kicking it off well in the EURO 2020 Qualifiers as well. Janne Andersson will now want another pick-me-up, though, and we expect his men very motivated moving forward.
Malta have maybe surprised some as they beat Faroe Islands (2-1) on the opening day of the campaign and only saw their contest against Spain (0-2) untangled with a brace from Alvaro Morata. They have been scoring goals on the road and although they’ve struggled to capitalize on them, we still see them doing the same here.
Knights of Malta have indeed been conceding numbers of goals away from home and this will prove even more of a worry, as they try to cause an upset at Friends Arena. We thus hope for a thrilling game of football which Sweden should be able to turn their way.
We will thus back Sweden to do just that as we stick our necks out for a Home win and a Yes on Both teams to score, which combines to an enticing 10/3 with bet365 and looks a lively longshot at this point.
With that in mind, we hope for many goals and we’ll also go for a high-scoring clash with Over 3.5 Goals FT at 4/5 with Paddy Power. We’ve seen Malta regularly see such games away from home and Sweden should be able to make it count on the day as well.
