Swansea vs Rotherham Match Preview
Swansea saw their three-game winning run come to a crashing end as they went down 4-0 at struggling QPR. The Welsh outfit were caught napping as they conceded the first goal after just three minutes and were three down by the 17th minute. They sit 13th and have three of their five remaining fixtures at their own place.
At the Liberty Stadium, the Swans are flying with five successive league victories and no defeat in the last eight. The Welsh outfit have scored 15 times in their last six in front of their own fans and nine in the last three alone. Daniel James has two in his last three at home while Ollie McBurnie has two from the last four.
Rotherham picked up a useful point last Saturday in a 2-2 draw at Stoke that saw them fight back from two goals down to claim a point. The result keeps them in the bottom three and the gap between them and safety is two points but with a much inferior goal-difference it is essentially two and a half they are behind. They do not have a kind end to the season with three of their last four against sides in the top 14.
Away from the New York Stadium, the Millers have managed just one victory all season though they have lost just two of the last seven on the road. Semi Ajayi has bagged three goals from his last five appearances on his travels. Five of the last five six and each of their last three away have seen both teams net.
Bookmakers have Swansea as the short-priced favourites here and you can see why given their excellent home form and the poor road performances of Rotherham. That being said the price looks short enough on a team with nothing to play for but pride and as such we will be looking at other markets to find the value.
For the hosts, Daniel James has two in his last three appearances at this ground and is the class act in the Welsh outfit. We think he is going off too big to net especially as he registered seven shots in his last appearance here. For the visitors, Matt Crooks made a massive difference when he came off the bench last weekend and we think he could get the start here. He registered six shots three of which were on target and as such he is going off far too big to net anytime.
