Swansea City vs Manchester City Match Preview
Manchester City are now just 6/1 for an unprecedented Quadruple this season and should move another step closer to that incredible achievement with a routine win against Swansea.
Odds-on favourites for both domestic trophies they are trying to add to the Carabao Cup to complete an English clean sweep, City could hardly be looking better in the Champions League either after their 10-2 round-of-16 demolition of Schalke.
Pep Guardiola’s side took their eye off the ball in the FA Cup last season when they lost away to Wigan, but a similar slip-up just does not look likely this term considering how focused they appear to be with 17 victories in their last 19 games – and even in one of those they did not win, they still lifted the Carabao Cup in a penalty shootout!
Any hope for Swansea is provided by their home form with five wins and two draws in their last seven games at the Liberty Stadium, although the latest three successes were against Bolton, Brentford and Millwall – and those teams are a far cry from Manchester City’s level.
City have already made one winning foray to South Wales in the FA Cup as they beat plucky Newport in the previous round and they are expected to stay on course for a first triumph in this competition since 2011 – and, of course, that remarkable Quadruple.
