Strasbourg vs Monaco Match Preview
Monaco have seen a disappointing start of the new Ligue 1 campaign and they’ve only ended a streak of two losses in the first two outings with a 2-2 draw against Nimes, as the visitors bagged two goals in the last 20 minutes and snatched a point at Stade Louis II last week.
Les Monegasques have seen thrashing losses to both Lyon (0-3) and Metz (3-0) beforehand, with six goals conceded and none scored along the way. Quite interestingly, they’ve seen red cards on all three occasions and Leonardo Jardim just struggled to find a cure and shake off such a feeling in the dressing room.
Strasbourg have, on the other hand, seen a busier schedule and saw Rennes (0-2) end their five-match unbeaten streak across competitions just last week. They’ve beaten Eintracht Frankfurt (1-0) beforehand but saw a comfortable 3-0 loss in Germany earlier this week, which saw them out of Europa League with Group Stage just under their noses.
Le Racing will now be desperate to bounce quickly and struggling Monaco will feel like a good chance to do so in front of the home fans. Still, they have a lot to prove if they’re to escape the danger zone early on too, despite showing off as a tough side to beat at Stade de la Meinau already.
We will now back them to hold off the visitors and end a two-match losing streak, though, as we stick our necks out for a Draw – which comes at 9/4 with Unibet and looks like more than just a lively longshot at this point.
We do feel we’re in for goals and we expect them on both ends too, as we go for a Yes on Both teams to score at 17/20 with Coral. We have seen both sides struggling to keep it together at the back lately and this feels like further evidence for such a bet despite a narrow occasion in the making.
