Strasbourg vs Marseille Match Preview
Marseille have fallen victims to in-form Nantes (1-2) over the weekend, who secured the top-flight survival with a series of great displays, now travelling to Strasbourg in hope they can recuperate quickly and cause an upset at Stade de la Meinau.
Les Phoceens have been conceding goals on the regular and while this has proven costly last week, we have seen them turn similar clashes against Nimes (2-1) and Guingamp (1-3) their way. They’ve seen goals coming from all directions and Rudi Garcia will now want to show it off once again in search of important points in a top 4 chase.
Strasbourg will be no easy rivals to outclass, though, and while they come into the match with a four-match winless streak – three of those came as draws. They’ve shared the spoils with PSG (2-2), Guingamp (3-3), Amiens (0-0) and only suffered a loss to Montpellier (1-3) along the way.
Le Racing seemingly have less to play for as they lost track of the spots leading to UEFA competitions next term but Thierry Laurey should have no troubles motivating his men at home ground. They’ve been very tough to outgun here and we now hope for more of the same.
We’ll thus stick our necks out for Strasbourg to hold off the recently shaky visitors and snatch an important point from them, as we go for a Draw at 5/2 with William Hill. We’ve seen them play three draws in the last four outings and this looks like more than a lively longshot.
We do hope to see goals and an exciting contest, though, which also has us going for a Yes on Both teams to score at 8/11 with Paddy Power. With both sides scoring and conceding in three of their last four respective outings, this feels like a generous pick at this point.
