Stoke sacked managed Nathan Jones on Friday and he left the side bottom of the table with just eight points gained from the opening 14 fixtures. Alex Neil (current Preston manager) is the favourite while Chris Hughton, Michael O’Neill, Chris Hughton, Alan Pardew and David Moyes are also linked.

At the BET365 Stadium, the Potters have taken just four points from their seven played here last season though these three did come last time in front of their own fans when they beat Fulham. Only two sides (QPR and Barnsley) have conceded more home goals in the division than the 13 they have shipped.

West Brom drew 2-2 with Charlton last time out to make it back-to-back draws and stretch their unbeaten record to four. A victory in this fixture would see Slaven Bilic and his side move back top of the table.

Away from the Hawthorns, the Baggies have been strong winning four, drawing two and losing just one of seven with this defeat coming at Elland Road. Each of their last five on the road have gone under 2.5 goals with the last two going under 1.5.

Bookmakers make West Brom favourites for the game and we can see why they will be popular given their strong form and the struggles of Stoke. That being said be cautious in the match markets as the hosts still have some quality players and it is unclear just why it wasn’t working under Nathan Jones but might enjoy the freedom of management without him.

The best angle of attack is a couple of plays in the goalscorer markets with Matt Phillips appealing for the visitors. He netted in the last fixture after a return from injury and the wide-man is a real threat on the break with his pace. For the hosts, Danny Batth is not exactly a prolific scorer (no goal since 2017/18) but his height means he can be a nuisance at set-pieces and if Albion have a weakness then that is it.
