Stoke vs Rotherham Match Preview
Stoke saw their nine-game unbeaten run come to an end in midweek as they went down 3-1 at Swansea in a match that saw them have two men dismissed. They sit 15th and have little to play for but pride and building for next season. Three of their last five are against top eight sides while the other two are against bottom eight opponents.
At the BET365 Stadium, the Potters have drawn three of their last four and have won just one of the last six. The last six fixtures at this ground have produced a total of just seven goals. Each of the last two here have ended goalless.
Rotherham will have been disappointed to lose 2-1 at home to Aston Villa in midweek having led and played against ten men for 56 minutes. The result keeps them in the bottom three and the gap between them and safety is two points but with a much inferior goal-difference it is essentially three. They do not have a kind end to the season with four of their last five against side in the top 14.
Away from the New York Stadium, the Millers have managed just one victory all season though that did come on the penultimate road start. Semi Ajayi has bagged three goals from his last four appearances on the road. Four of the last five United have played on their travels have seen both teams net.
Bookmakers have Stoke as the short-priced favourites though this does not appeal given they have won just one of their last six here. Rotherham could get something here but we expected a bigger price on a team with just one road success all season.
The Potters are tough to break down but the Millers have to go for it and we think it might be a more open game than the odds suggest. Backing both teams to score appeals as does over 2.5 goals while the double also is an option.
