Stoke vs Norwich Match Preview
Stoke saw their winless run stretched to three as they went down to a 1-0 road loss to Middlesbrough on Friday afternoon. The result means they sit 16th and this has been a hugely disappointing campaign for the biggest spenders in the division. They have two fixtures to play after this one away at Millwall and at home to Sheffield United.
At the BET365 Stadium, the Potters are unbeaten in their last five with four of these matches ending in a draw. Six of the last seven played here have gone under 2.5 goals with three of them going under 1.5 goals. Sam Vokes has looked decent since arriving and he has managed to bag two in his last five home starts.
Norwich looked on course to see their ten-game unbeaten run come to an end but a 97-minute Mario Vrancic free-kick rescued a point and a 2-2 at home to Sheffield Wednesday on Friday. The result means that City are five points clear of Sheffield United and Leeds at the top. If the other two win all their matches four points should still be enough to see the East Anglian side promoted.
Away from Carrow Road, the Canaries are unbeaten in their last five winning four of these and losing just one of their last 18. No side has scored more goals on the road this campaign in the Championship than the 38 City have managed. Teemu Pukki has found the back of the net six times in his last seven on his travels
Bookmakers make Norwich the favourites to win this game but the prices do not look worth taking on a side who have drawn their last three. The return of influential playmaker Emi Buendia will be huge for the visitors but Stoke are a tough side to beat at their own place.
We think this game will be a tight opening as the Potters have drawn four of their last five and make goals hard to come by while City have scored around two-thirds of their goals after the break this season. We like the look of the game to be level going into the break and the second-half to be the highest scoring 45 minutes.
