Stoke vs Leeds Match Preview
Stoke lost 3-1 at Preston in midweek to continue their tough start to the season that has seen them take just one point from four games. Nathan Jones is a man under pressure and if things don’t turn around soon he could be replaced.
At the BET365 Stadium, the Potters have drawn a remarkable seven of their last nine when adding in last season. Both teams finding the back of the net has happened in each of the last five Championship fixtures at this ground.
Leeds made it three victories from their opening four in midweek with a 1-0 defeat of Brentford that moved them top on ten points. The only game they have not won was a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest a fixture they dominated on the expected goals data.
Away from Elland Road, the Whites have won 3-1 at Bristol City and 2-0 at Wigan this season to continue on from their strong road form from last season. Patrick Bamford already has three goals on the road in 2019/20.
It is hard to see past Leeds winning here given they sit top of the table and Stoke sit bottom. The prices might interest a few but the Potters could squeeze out a draw as they have done in seven of their last nine here so we would suggest looking elsewhere for the value.
A better angle of attack is siding with a couple of players who look value to score at any time. Patrick Bamford has three in two on the road and he appeals as does Eddie Nketiah who looked a class act at this level in midweek.
