Stoke City v West Bromwich Albion Match Preview
Stoke are struggling at the moment with three defeats from their last four and one victory in the last seven. Nathan Jones is a manager who comes with a big reputation but if they continue to slide City might pull the panic cord ahead of next season.
At the Bet365 Stadium, the Staffordshire outfit have done their best work losing just two of their last eight. Joe Allen has grabbed three goals from his last seven appearances in front of his own fans.
West Brom lost in the FA Cup in midweek which means back-to-back defeats and just one league win in five. They sit in fourth but find the gap between themselves and third up to four points and the distance between them and second seven points.
Away from the Hawthorns, the Black Country unit are performing better with five victories from their last six. Jay Rodriguez has two in his last two on the road while Dwight Gayle has three in three.
Stoke are narrow favourites to win the game due to home advantage through their poor form means I could not be siding with them. West Brom are the more likelier winners but with a tough FA Cup game behind them in midweek I will pass on them.
Neither side are flying at the moment but at the heart both have managers who believe in attacking principles and it could be that a meeting here brings out the goals and as such I like over 2.5 goals. You could back a number of players to net but with three in his last seven at home and the Baggies often being vulnerable to runners from midfield it is Joe Allen who gets the call.
