Club Brugge sit just three points behind First Division A pace-setters Genk as they travel to Liege for their penultimate outing this term, looking to challenge the top of the table with important points at Stade Maurice Dufrasne.

Blue-Blacks have beaten Genk (3-2) on Sunday with goals from Hans Vanaken, Lois Openda, and Krepin Diatta to extend a three-match winning streak, after narrowly bagging points against Anderlecht (1-0) and Gent (0-1) in two outings beforehand. They will now want more and holding them off will be no easy task.

Standard Liege have seen no such pick-me-ups lately and they host the clash looking for a return to the winning ways after four consecutive losses, where they saw Genk (1-3), Antwerp (2-1), Anderlecht (2-1), and Gent (2-3) all snatch the points despite netting five goals along the way.

Indeed, the Reds have struggled to keep it together and this has proven costly as they dropped the 3rd spot leading to Europa League, with Antwerp now sitting three points clear. Michel Preud’homme’s men will now be desperate to reclaim it late in the campaign and we expect a solid challenge.
