St Mirren vs Rangers Match Preview
Rangers travel to Paisley for their Matchday 3 Premiership clash on Sunday, just days after their Europa League Play-offs clash at Legia Warsaw, as they hope to build on a great winning streak across competitions – heading into the busy week with five consecutive wins behind them.
Gers have opened the Premiership campaign with a win over Kilmarnock (1-2), building on it with two Europa League wins over Midtjylland (7-3 on aggregate) as well as a thrashing win over Hibernian (6-1) and League Cup success at East Fife (0-3) most recently. They’ve been scoring numbers of goals on the regular and will now want to keep it up.
St Mirren have, on the other hand, seen a disappointing League Cup Group stage performance and failed to make it to knockout stages in a Group with Dunfermline, Albion Rovers, East Kilbride, and Edinburgh City. They’ve seen just two wins in eight outings since the Premiership Play-offs in late May and this will feel worrying.
However, Saints have bagged one of those just last week, when a single goal from Ilkay Durmus proved enough for all three points against Aberdeen (1-0) and they bounced from a 1-0 loss at Hibernian seen beforehand. They have been tough at the back and will hope to put on such a display at Simple Digital Arena once again, promising a narrow occasion.
We do feel Rangers have what it takes to break them down and outgun the rivals to all-important points here, as we stick with an Away win and Over 2.5 Goals FT at 3/4 with Coral – hoping to see the visitors on the winning end of a thriller here.
We do feel St Mirren will do their bit in making it such this time around, though, and we’re thus also going for a Yes on Both teams to score at 13/10 with William Hill. We’ve seen Rangers regularly conceding lately and this serves as further evidence for such a bet.
