St Mirren vs Celtic Match Preview

Celtic essentially wrapped up another Scottish title on Sunday when they beat Rangers and this match should take them further along the road towards an unprecedented treble Treble.

No club in a major footballing nation has ever swept the board of all three domestic trophies in three consecutive seasons, but Celtic now look to have only Scottish Cup success between them and that remarkable feat.

After moving 13 points clear of their arch-rivals at the top of the Premiership table, the Hoops can afford to make the Scottish Cup semi-final against Aberdeen on April 14 their top priority in the near future.

But they will want to remain in the winning habit and although they were held to a 0-0 draw at St Mirren in September, Celtic are not expected to make any mistake on this return trip to Paisley.

St Mirren are battling with Dundee and Hamilton to avoid being automatically relegated or having to contest the play-off against a Championship side, and they did win two of their three home games during March.

However, Celtic represent a completely different level of opposition to Dundee and Livingston and, unlike the equivalent game in September, this one is expected to go very much to form – with Scott Sinclair backed to maintain his 100% record of scoring against the Buddies.
