Lille travel to St Etienne on the back of a 1-0 home win over Dijon, where only an own-goal made the difference as Christophe Galtier’s men extended a four-match unbeaten streak after holding off Strasbourg (1-1), Montpellier (0-0), and beating Guingamp (0-2) in three outings since early February.
LOSC have seen a disappointing Coupe de France exit at Rennes (2-1) beforehand and lost on their consistency on the road lately. However, they’ve kept scoring goals on the regular and we’ll surely see them very motivated to make them count on the day.
St Etienne have been far from impressive lately and come into the match with a 2-0 loss at Marseille now behind them, which was their fifth loss in eight outings – with just two wins and a draw earned along the way. Even more worryingly, three of those came on the road since late January.
Les Verts have thus lost on their great records at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard and saw Lyon (1-2), Dijon (3-6), and PSG (0-1) all snatch the points, with a narrow 2-1 win over Strasbourg earned along the way. They have based success on tough displays at home and consequently lag 11 points behind the 2nd placed rivals, which will have them desperate to recuperate.
We don’t feel they can return to the winning ways but we do see St Etienne having what it takes to hold off the rivals, as we stick our necks out for the sides to share the spoils with a Draw priced at 23/10 with bet365.
