SPAL vs Roma Match Preview
Roma have narrowly returned to the winning ways after dropping out of Champions League in a thriller 3-1 loss at Porto, as they beat Empoli (2-1) and kept up with the Serie A top 4. They now travel to Ferrara hoping to prove their worth and finally build on consistency heading into the final part of the campaign.
Giallorossi have seen their inconsistency prove costly especially on the road and just three wins earned in 11 away games hardly feels like a success for Eusebio di Francesco, which will be worrying ahead of the trip even to struggling SPAL.
Indeed, SPAL sit just two points clear of the relegation zone at this point and have just as much to play for at Stadio Paolo Mazza, despite a troubled spell and just one point earned in their last five outings. They’ve seen a 2-0 loss at Inter which hardly felt comfortable and Leonardo Semplici will now want to build on such a performance.
His men have proven themselves a tough nut to crack at home ground and losses to Fiorentina (1-4) and Sampdoria (1-2) since mid-February only ended a streak of six consecutive draws here. They will now be desperate for points and we expect another rock-solid challenge on Saturday, which could prove Roma’s woes once again.
We will stick our necks out for SPAL to do just that and we’ll go for a Double Chance – Home win or Draw, which comes at Evens with bet365 and has caught an eye of many in the know seeing Giallorossi struggling to break into the league’s top 4.
However, we expect goals and the home side will have to cope if they’re to manage points on the day, which also has us going for a Yes on Both teams to score at 8/11 with Paddy Power. We have seen both sides scoring and conceding on the regular and this does look like value too.
