Spain U21 vs Germany U21 Match Preview
Spain U21 have enjoyed a great goalscoring spell of form as they sailed past Poland (5-0) on the final day of the group stage to make the top of the Group A table and built on the success with a rather convincing display against France (4-1) in the semi-finals – where they fell behind early but secured a comeback with goals from Marc Roca, Mikel Oyarzabal, Daniel Olmo, and Borja Mayoral.
La Rojita now meet Germany for their second U21 Championship Final in two years, hoping to take revenge for the loss suffered in Poland (0-1) and prove their great form of recent – coming off as heavy favourites to lift the trophy in Udine.
Germany U21 have had more troubles impressing lately but had in-form Luca Waldschmidt to thank for their ticket to the Final, as he opened the scoresheet on Matchday 3 draw against Austria (1-1) and did a great deal in their thriller 4-2 win over Romania in the semi-finals.
Waldschmidt first converted the early second-half equalizer and then built on his great partnership with Amiri with a 90’ goal and a 94’ assist to make it comfortable. Germans will now want to build on such displays up front but breaking down Spain should prove even more of a challenge.
We don’t see them up to the task this time around, though, and we’ll now rather stick our necks out for Spain to turn another narrow clash their way – with a win priced at 21/20 with Unibet. We should be in for thrills but Luis de la Fuente’s boys should have enough firepower to seal the deal this time around.
They could need just that and we expect goals, as we also go for a high-scoring contest with Over 2.5 Goals FT at 8/11 with Paddy Power – hoping to see goals on both ends and Spain outgunning the rivals at Dacia Arena.
