South Africa vs Namibia Match Preview
South Africa have seen a 1-0 loss to Ivory Coast and are now in for a tough task to make it to the knockout stages, as they meet Namibia for their Matchday 2 clash desperate for points and a pick-me-up with a rather unpredictable spell of form seen beforehand just as well.
Bafana Bafana have taken it on penalties to beat Uganda (1-1) and Malawi (0-0) at COSAFA Cup and saw a goalless draw against Ghana since, struggling to turn clashes their or score goals on the regular. They will obviously need more but Stuart Baxter will hope his men are not in for the same sort of a challenge now.
Namibia have fallen just short of a point in their first outing in Egypt, where Morocco’s pressure hasn’t really proven fruitful and only an own goal from Itamunua Keimuine made the difference just before the 90’ mark. They’ve failed to create chances but held on well until Keimuine sent a header behind Lloyd Kazapua, which will still have them with a lot on their minds.
Brave Warriors have been quite unpredictable despite a more lenient schedule beforehand and only came into the match on the back of a 3-0 win over Seychelles, which now feels like a questionable confidence booster. They’ll now want more but we don’t really see them getting it against South Africa.
We thus hope South Africa will be able to show their class and turn another narrow clash their way on the day, where a win comes at 8/11 with Netbet and looks a very solid approach to the market with an obvious difference in depth of quality.
We do hope to see Namibia a tough nut to crack once again, though, and we’re also backing Under 2.5 Goals FT at 3/5 with Hamabet – in hope just one goal could make all the difference at Al Salam Stadium too.
