San Jose Earthquakes vs Los Angeles FC Match Preview
Los Angeles FC travel to San Jose for their MLS clash on Saturday in great shape after earning ten points in four outings early in the new campaign, including a thriller 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake last week – where Walker Zimmerman found the last-gasp winner which sees them topping the Western Conference table.
LAFC have thus connected their third home win in a row and they’ve only seen the streak interrupted with a 2-2 draw earned at New York City, where a brace from Carlos Vela saw them level the score twice. They will now want a similar performance on a 340-miles-long trip north and justify the role of favourites.
Indeed, San Jose have struggled to impress early on and come into the match sitting on the other end of the table with no points to their name, after seeing losses to Montreal Impact (1-2), Minnesota United (0-3), and New York Red Bulls (4-1) early in the new season.
Earthquakes took the lead on two of those occasions but saw the rivals turn it around with defensive errors and an overwhelming feeling of struggles at the back. They will now need more to shut down the California rivals and we don’t feel they have what it takes at this point.
We will thus stick our necks out for Los Angeles to snatch all three points at Avaya Stadium and connect their third competitive win over San Jose in a row, which comes at Evens with William Hill and has already caught support from many in the know.
However, we expect a strong challenge as Earthquakes force them into an exciting contest for the points, which also has us going for a Yes on Both teams to score at 4/9 with William Hill. We’ve seen LAFC both score and concede on all occasions so far and this feels like further evidence for such a bet.
