Sheffield United vs Rotherham Match Preview
Sheffield United are playing catch up after a goalless draw at Sheffield Wednesday last weekend left them third behind Norwich and Leeds. A return to form for Billy Sharp would be welcome who has gone four without scoring having netted six in the three fixtures prior to that.
At Bramall Lane, the Blades are flying have won each of their last five and keeping clean sheets in all of these. David McGoldrick has three in his last five here though none in his last two.
Rotherham had drawn five straight prior to picking up an important three points with a 3-2 victory over Blackburn last time out. They are still in the bottom three though are level on points with Reading and just one behind Millwall.
Away from the New York Stadium, the Millers have drawn their last three yet have failed to win once this season. A total of just four goals has been netted from their last five on the road.
Given the league positions and the respective home and away form of the sides I think it is hard to see past a home win but I don’t think it will be comfortable. The visitors are playing well and are proving tough to beat.
The best way to get with Rotherham here is by backing them to stay in the game until at least half-time where they should be backed alongside the draw in the double chance market. I also think saying that the Blades will not score before the break looks a bet worth taking as around 60% of their goals have come after the interval.
