Sheffield United vs Nottingham Forest Match Preview

Sheffield United looked on course for a crucial three points on Saturday but Jake Cooper netted in the 95th minute to rescue a point for Millwall in a 1-1 draw.  The result leaves them in third place three behind Leeds and seven behind Norwich with four fixtures remaining.  United have a kind run-in with none of the top eight to face in their last four.

At Bramall Lane, the Blades have not won their last two but before that had won eight straight.  They have shipped four times in their last two here having kept clean sheets in the seven prior to that.  Gary Madine has four from the last five fixtures here.

Nottingham Forest lost a third successive game last time out suffering a 2-1 home loss against Blackburn.  They are 11th and are now eight points from the play-offs and ending the season with four victories is unlikely prove good enough to end the season in the top six.  Martin O’Neill though is set to use the remainder of the matches to try find a winning formula for next season.

Away from the City Ground, the Tricky Trees are winless in their last 12 though six of these have finished all-square.  A lack of road goals has been a big issue for them recently having netted just four from their last nine.  Each of their last three and four of their last five on their travels have been level going into the break.

Sheffield United are the most likely winners but they have stuttered in recent weeks and we think the price looks too short to be siding with them.  Nottingham Forest though have been woeful and any new manager bounce under Martin O’Neill has long gone.

A better angle of attack is taking the game to be level going into the break as the visitors have seen this in each of their last three on the road.  United will have to come out and try gain all three points so back the second-half to be the highest scoring half as their attacking will open opportunities at both ends of the pitch.
