Sheffield United vs Crystal Palace Match Preview
Premier League football returns to Bramall Lane for the first time in 13 seasons with Sheffield United facing a Crystal Palace side who were excellent on their travels last term.
And not only do the Eagles have strong away form in recent memory to call upon, they should also have Wilfried Zaha ready to step back into the starting line-up after his failed transfer request just before the deadline.
As a result of his desire to move, and no deal being agreed, Palace’s talisman was on the bench for last weekend’s 0-0 opening draw at home to Everton before being given 25 minutes to try and carve out a winner.
Zaha has trained all of this week though and reports indicate he will start against the Blades following a clear-the-air meeting with his team-mates. There could also be a Palace debut for Gary Cahill, who enhanced his match fitness by playing for the Under-23s on Monday.
Sheffield United began life back in the top flight by drawing 1-1 away to Bournemouth with a late Billy Sharp equaliser and their fans will be absolutely buzzing as they arrive for the first home game of what will be a very exciting season for their club.
However, Palace were comfortably the best away team outside the top six last term and are backed to again show why by claiming their initial win of 2019-20.
