Sheffield United looked to be on course for an important three points at Aston Villa but were pegged back and had to settle for a 3-3 draw last time out. They had taken the lead through a Billy Sharp hat-trick and the frontman has six goals in his last three starts.
At Bramall Lane, the Yorkshire outfit have won their last four league games netting nine times and conceding just once. They have conceded just 13 home goals this campaign the joint-second best in the division.
Middlesbrough made it six unbeaten last time out with a 1-1 draw for Leeds but looked on course for all three points after Lewis Wing netted. Tony Pulis will have been livid to concede a late equalizer meaning it is now five without a clean sheet for Boro.
Away from the Riverside, the Teesiders are unbeaten in their last four winning three of these games. Three of these opponents have been against sides who are also in the top eight of the table.
Sheffield United are favourites to win the game and they have been impressive at home of late with four straight victories. Two things put me off backing them though Middlesbrough and their great road form and how the mood will be after throwing away a three goal lead to Aston Villa.
Both teams to score looks the sensible play as Boro have shown a little more attacking intent on the road in recent weeks netting a combined 11 times from their last seven on the road while Sheffield United have the in-form Billy Sharp.
I also think a draw will not do either side any favour so this game could see goals and taking the over 2.5 with two teams in decent scoring form looks a sensible approach especially as it is the bigger priced outsider.
