Sevilla vs Real Betis Match Preview
Sevilla host city rivals Real Betis for their Matchday 32 La Liga clash looking to take revenge for the 1-0 loss suffered at Benito Villamarin and end a three-match winless streak in the Seville Derby. They have picked it up lately and now have a lot to play for, with a top 4 spot under their noses.
Sevillistas have seen a very disappointing home loss to Valencia (0-1) late in March but bounced back with a somewhat more lenient schedule, where in-form Roque Mesa led the side to points against Deportivo Alaves (2-0) and Real Valladolid (0-2) despite narrow contests on both occasions.
Real Betis sit just six points behind the fierce rivals, though, and will be just as motivated to snatch the points. They’ve bagged a 2-1 win over Villarreal last week as a brace from Giovani Lo Celso secured a return to the winning ways after three games in a row.
Beticos have seen losses to Barcelona (1-4) and Sociedad (2-1) as well as a tough 1-1 draw at Rayo Vallecano, struggling to capitalize on the goals scored and turn clashes their way. Quique Setien will need more if his men are to challenge the top 6 in La Liga and getting it against Sevilla is the perfect place to start.
We will stick our necks out for Betis to do so and leave Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan unbeaten, as we back a Double Chance – Draw or Away win at 6/5 with bet365 in hope to see the visitors capitalize on Sevilla’s struggles.
Indeed, we don’t feel Sevilla have put them behind just yet but we still expect a thriller contest on Saturday. We’ll thus also go for a Yes on Both teams to score at 4/7 with William Hill, which feels like buying money for old rope at this point.
