Sevilla vs Atletico Madrid Match Preview

Sevilla were held to a 1-1 draw in a very narrow clash at Valencia midway through the week and saw their three-match winning streak across competitions ended, now hosting Atletico Madrid for their Matchday 12 clash as the tough schedule continues and they try to break into the top 4.

Sevillistas have been in great shape in front of the home fans over the past month and we’ve seen them beat Levante (1-0), Dudelange (3-0), and Getafe (2-0) beforehand, extending a five-match winning streak at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium. Julen Lopetegui’s men now have high hopes they can build on the performances despite a tougher challenge looming.

Atletico Madrid have been very tough to beat and they’ve been rock-solid at the back before anything else. They have seen a winning streak of two interrupted by Deportivo Alaves (1-1) on Tuesday, though, as Lucas Perez found the late equalizer and they will need more to snatch the points here.

This was only the second goal Atleti conceded in nine outings and they will now want to base their challenge here on such a setup as well, that’s for sure. Diego Simeone and his men last suffered a league loss to Sevilla in October 2016 and we feel they can leave unbeaten on the day as well.
