Seattle Sounders vs Real Salt Lake Match Preview

Seattle Sounders have made a terrific start to the 2019 MLS campaign and should not be fearful of losing their momentum against Real Salt Lake.

The team from Washington state won their first three matches comfortably, scoring 10 goals, before being held to a 0-0 draw away to Vancouver Whitecaps last weekend.

Real Salt Lake have also had one stalemate, but the difference is that they lost their other three games and conceded 10 goals which means their opening to the season has been the polar opposite of Seattle’s.

In mitigation, the Utah club have had to travel for three of those four matches and they did earn a point at Houston, while they only went down to overall title favourites Los Angeles FC in the dying seconds when they also had a man sent off.

Although Mike Petke’s side have a good recent record against the Sounders, it is difficult to make a case for them here and in a match where betting value is not plentiful, backing a comparative shortage of goals could be the best bet, especially based on their recent meetings (see stats above).
