Sassuolo vs Chievo Verona Match Preview
Sassuolo have struggled for points despite scoring goals lately and we’ve seen them bag just one in last four outings, as they held Napoli to a 1-1 draw but also suffered losses to Milan (1-0), Sampdoria (3-5), and Bologna (2-1) more recently – as they found a very late equalizer at Renato Dall’Ara but still dropped all three points.
Neroverdi have thus dropped down the table but still seven points clear of 18th placed Empoli, now hoping to use the chance against rock-bottomed rivals to build on the 32-point tally. They have been a tougher side to beat at MAPEI Stadium and we’ll surely see then very motivated to show off once again.
Chievo have seen similar woes but through most part of their campaign, as they 20th with just 11 points to their name – three of which came in the last ten outings. They’ve held Atalanta to a 1-1 draw on their last trip and shocked Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia but still failed to build on the success – seeing a 0-3 thrashing in the hands of Cagliari over the weekend.
Gialloblu have indeed struggled to find the net on the regular away from home and this will feel even more worrying, despite solid records on their trips to Reggio nell’Emilia. They will now be desperate to close the gap late in the campaign but we don’t see them doing so just yet.
We will thus back Sassuolo to bag all three points and going for a Home win feels like buying money for old rope at 8/13 with William Hill, seeing Chievo struggling to make an impact over the past couple of months.
However, Sassuolo have had woes of their own as they struggled to keep clean sheets, which has us hoping for an exciting contest on Thursday evening. With that in mind, we’re now also backing a Yes on Both teams to score at Evens with William Hill.
