Sampdoria vs Roma Match Preview
Sampdoria have seen a disappointing trip to Torino midway through the week, where a single goal from Manolo Gabbiadini proved nothing more than a consolation in a 2-1 loss as Marco Giampaolo’s men failed to build on their two-match winning streak at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.
Blucerchiati have beaten Sassuolo (3-5) and AC Milan (1-0) in two very interesting contests beforehand and they’ll now surely want to replicate such displays, looking to break into the league’s top 6 over the tough rivals – which makes the stakes on Saturday even higher.
Indeed, Roma have struggled for pick-me-ups lately and they’ve seen a 2-1 loss at SPAL ahead of the International break as well as a 1-4 thrashing in the hands of Napoli after it, only ending the unwanted streak in a thriller 2-2 draw against Fiorentina earlier this week.
Giallorossi have thus dropped further down the table and still sit four points behind the top 4 for Milan’s inability to extend the gap, as Claudi Ranieri still has to show a difference since taking over in early March. They’ve seen nothing but losses on the road last month and we feel they’ll have trouble on their hands early in April as well.
We will thus back Sampdoria to secure all three points and capitalize on Roma’s woes of recent, as we stick our necks out for a Home win at 15/8 with William Hill. We’ve seen them very tough to play against at Luigi Ferraris and now hope for more of the same.
However, we don’t feel we’ll see as many goals as some would suggest and we will now rather go for another narrow occasion in Genoa, as we back a No on Both teams to score – which comes at an enticing 5/4 with Paddy Power.
