Sampdoria vs Juventus Match Preview
Sampdoria have had a rather underwhelming season this time around in Serie A. Having not managed to secure a route back into continental football, this season, the Genoa-based outfit have struggled for consistency throughout the campaign and as a result are set for a midtable finish as they go into the final game of the season, at home to the champions Juventus, sitting in ninth place and unable to go up or down.
Blucerchiati have struggled particularly in the latter stages of the campaign, perhaps due to the disappointment of having nothing to play for as they head for another middle-of-the-road finish. Marco Giampaolo come into their final fixture of the season having won just one of their last eight Serie A matches, but you can back them to end on a high with an unlikely three points here at odds of 29/10 with William Hill.
Juventus have tied up yet another title with relative ease this season. Having won the last seven consecutive league trophies ahead of this campaign and strengthening yet further in the summer by bringing in five-time Ballon D’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid, it was seemingly never in doubt that the Old Lady would win their eighth consecutive Scudetto (and 35th overall) in the 2018/2019 campaign.
Like their Sunday afternoon opponents though, Massimiliano Allegri’s men have struggled in the last few weeks of the campaign. A defeat to Ajax in the Champions League Quarter Finals appears to have taken the wind out of the sails of this Juve outfit. With Allegri set to leave the club in the summer, can they enjoy a fitting send off for their successful manager with three points in Genoa at odds of 5/6 with PaddyPower.
For us though, the value is in backing Juve to drop points in this game. Sampdoria may not be in the best form at the moment, but they do have the home advantage and Bianconeri seem to have really taken their foot off the gas since securing the Serie A title some weeks ago, winning only one of their last eight games in all competitions. As such, we think there’s definitely a case for backing the hosts to win or draw on the double chance at 19/20 with Bet365.
Fabio Quagliarella has enjoyed another incredible season. Despite now being 36 years of age, the experienced striker has been in phenomenal form in front of goal this term, smashing in 26 goals in 36 appearances, three of which have come in his last three appearances at Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris. We’re backing the Sampdoria striker to score against his former club here at evens with PaddyPower.
