St Etienne have picked it up since mid-December and they host Marseille for their Matchday 17 clash hoping to build on such performances, after holding Nice to a 1-1 draw and beating Dijon (3-0), Olympique Strasbourg (0-6 in Coupe de France), and Guingamp (0-1) in three outings since.

Les Verts have been rock-solid in front of the home crowd too and now look for their fifth home win in a row, having kept clean sheets on last three of those occasions. Jean-Louis Gasset will want more of the same from his men, as they try to capitalize on the visitors’ woes of recent.

Indeed, Marseille have struggled to turn clashes their way and haven’t bagged a win since November, where an eight-match winless streak across competitions had them crash out of Europa League, Coupe de la Ligue (in the hands of Strasbourg), Coupe de France (in the hands of Andrezieux), and drop down the pecking order in Ligue 1.

Les Phoceens have seen Monaco snatch a point in a 1-1 draw at Orange Velodrome most recently and they’ll now need more to return to the winning ways at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, as in-form St Etienne poses a serious challenge at this point.

We don’t see them making it happen, though, and we’ll now rather stick with a Home win here – which comes at 11/8 with BetVictor and attracts many value seekers already. We’ve seen them in great shape at this ground and now hope to see them impress once again.
