Russia vs Cyprus Match Preview
Russia host Cyprus for their Matchday 4 EURO 2020 Qualifiers clash on Tuesday as heavy favourites to secure the points, coming into the match in great shape and on the back of a two-match winning streak – where they beat both Kazakhstan (1-4) and San Marino (9-0).
Indeed, Sbornaya have bounced from a 3-1 loss in Belgium on the opening day of the campaign with a couple of convincing displays in the final third, led by in-form Artem Dzyuba in the final third and seeing goals coming from all directions. They’ve netted nine against lowly San Marino on Saturday and will want more of the same now.
Cyprus will be more of a challenge but they’ve struggled to snatch points on the road, bagging a 5-0 win over San Marino of their own but failing to cope with Belgium (0-2) or Scotland (2-1) since. They’ve been scoring more goals on the road lately and Ran Ben Shimon will ask for more from his men.
White and Blues have last seen a win on the road over two years ago (1-2 at Gibraltar) and saw eight losses in nine trips since, with just a 1-1 draw in Slovenia along the way. Still, we’ve seen them score goals on all of their last three trips and we do see them doing so on the day as well.
We will thus stick with Russia to secure the points but we’ll also go for an exciting game of football with goals on both ends, as we go for a Home win and a Yes on Both teams to score at 12/5 with bet365.
We have seen Russia enjoy such clashes lately too and with that in mind, we’re now also going for a high-scoring game where Over 2.5 Goals FT comes at 7/10 with William Hill and looks like buying money for old rope.
