Bolton have done little to make up the -12 points they’ve started the campaign with, travelling to Rotherham for their Matchday 6 with just one point earned in five games and great defensive woes to tend to – as Keith Hill struggles to find any consistency at the back.

Wanderers conceded 17 goals as they suffered league losses to Wycombe (2-0), Tranmere (5-0), Ipswich (0-5), and Gillingham (5-0) and only held Coventry to a goalless draw along the way. They’ve also seen a convincing League Cup loss to Rochdale (5-2) and EFL Trophy loss to Bradford (on penalties after a 1-1 draw) along the way, which will feel just as worrying at this point.

Rotherham now surely hope they can capitalize on such woes and secure the important points in an attempt to keep up with the top part of the table early on, despite losing on consistency themselves after some solid mid-August performances where they beat Shrewsbury (0-4 in League Cup) and Burton Albion (0-1).

Millers have seen losses to Sheffield Wednesday (0-1) and Doncaster Rovers (2-1) since then, with a shaky 1-1 draw against Tranmere along the way – where they conceded a last-gasp equalizer and were denied a win once again. Paul Warne will now want more and we do feel the clash against Bolton is a good chance to get it.
