Rotherham vs Accrington Match Preview
Rotherham host Accrington Stanley for their Matchday 18 clash on Saturday afternoon looking to capitalize on the rivals’ goalscoring woes of recent and challenge a top 6 spot with important points at AESSEAL New York Stadium, now sitting just two behind 6th placed Coventry with a game in hand.
Millers have seen a comfortable EFL Trophy loss at Lincoln (3-0) interrupt a two-match winning streak once again, after beating Gillingham (0-3) in League One and Maidenhead (1-3) in FA Cup. They have seen a couple of disappointing home outings lately, though, and Paul Warne will now want more from his men.
Accrington Stanley have dropped down the table and now sit just outside the relegation zone, as their woes in the final third prove costly across competitions. They’ve failed to find the net at all in four of their last five outings and the home loss to Crewe Alexandra (0-2) emphasized such troubles once again.
Stanley have seen a thrashing 4-0 loss at Peterborough and snatched a point in a goalless draw at Coventry along the way, which goes to point towards an unpredictable spell of form as well. They will now be desperate to escape the danger zone but will need an upset on the day.
We don’t see them making it happen and we’ll now rather stick with Rotherham to secure all three points, going for a Home win at 3/4 with BetVictor – which seems like a generous banker bet with the visitors’ woes at this point.
We do expect a narrow occasion, though, and we feel Rotherham will have to work to break the deadlock. With that in mind, we hope not to see many goals and we’ll also go for Under 2.5 Goals FT, which has caught the eye of many at Evens with bet365.
