Rosenborg vs Linfield Match Preview
Rosenborg snatched a 0-2 win in Belfast as Mike Jensen and Alexander Soderlund found the net to give the side an important advantage ahead of the return match in front of the home fans, as they host Linfield looking to build on the success and seal the deal on Wednesday evening.
Troillongan have been in great shape lately and now come on the back of a four-match winning streak too, beating Viking (5-1) in Eliteserien – where Soderlund netted a brace too – and now surely hoping the in-form attacking line will deliver again. They have been very solid at this ground and it’s hard to see the visitors deny them at this point.
Linfield have, on the other hand, struggled for any consistency ahead of the clash and found it costly that they could not lift their team spirits. They’ve struggled to create and convert chances and we feel David Healy will struggle to find a cure in the second leg too despite seeing his men return to the winning ways.
Indeed, Blues have finally ended the unwanted streak and we’ve seen them beat Portstewart (0-3) in Saturday’s friendly, which should mean they’ve picked up their team spirits. However, coping with the Norwegian will prove much more of a task and we don’t see them up to it.
We’ll thus back Rosenborg to another comfortable win over the rivals and going for a Home win to Nil obviously feels like more of a banker bet at this point, coming at 4/6 with Ladbrokes and catching the eye of many in the know already.
We do feel we’re in for a rather one-sided contest here and with that in mind, we’re hoping not to see as many goals as some would suggest. We’ll thus also stick with Under 3.5 Goals FT at 8/11 with William Hill, which feels like a solid approach to the fixture by itself.
