Rosario Central vs Colon Match Preview
Rosario Central host Colon for their first Copa de la Superliga outing this term after a ten-day break, hoping to build on rock-solid records in front of the home fans and get off on the right foot. They have been unpredictable early in 2020 but still kept hold of a six-game winning streak at Dr Lisandro de la Torre Stadium, which will have them confident once again.
Canalla have seen losses at Defensa y Justicia (3-0) and Argentinos Juniors (2-1) since late March but still showed off as secured a top 9 Superliga spot with a comfortable home win over Arsenal (3-1) along the way. They have been scoring numbers of goals here quite regularly and we now expect them in a good mood once again.
Colon have, on the other hand, seen a disappointing three-match losing streak as Newell’s Old Boys (4-0), Boca Juniors (0-4) and Talleres de Cordoba (2-0) all snatched the points and they failed to get on the scoresheet on all three occasions. They will need more in Rosario and we don’t feel they have what it takes for an upset.
Colonenses haven’t bagged a win since beating Estudiantes (3-2) in late November and they’ve seen eight losses in ten outings since. Their goalscoring woes could be even more worrying for Eduardo Dominguez, who has a tough task on his hand as he returns to the hot seat after a spell in Uruguayan Nacional.
We don’t see the visitors’ manager making an immediate impact, though, and we’ll now rather stick with Rosario Central to secure all three points in a Home win priced at 4/6 with bet365. We’ve seen them very confident here and we should now be in for more of the same.
Still, we also expect a tough contest and strong defensive lines on both ends, which has us hoping for few goals on the day. We’re going for Under 2.5 Goals FT at 3/5 with William Hill, which has been rated a banker bet by many in the know already.
