Roma vs Wolfsberger Predictions

Roma as always are looking to balance their competitiveness across a few different competitions this season. Having not managed to compete with Juventus for the Serie A title over the last couple of seasons, la Maggica made some interesting additions to their squad over the summer and although a title tilt is looking less and less likely, they will feel capable of earning a top four spot at the very least this term. They currently sit in fifth place, outside of the Champions League qualification spots on goal difference.

The Europa League have proven trickier than many might have expected for the Italian giants this time around. Having won just two of their five games so far, Paulo Fonseca’s men go into the final matchday in second place but with just one point separating the top three. With the other two sides, BMG and Istanbul Basaksehir, facing off in Germany, a win here would be enough for Roma at odds of 1/6 with Coral.

Wolfsberger have found themselves in the group stages of a major European competition for the first time this season and have put up a brave fight, even if  they are destined for bottom place in the group. Although the four points they have picked up from a home draw with Roma and a stunning 0-4 away win over Borussia Monchengladbach aren’t enough to give them a chance of progressing here, they will have enjoyed the journey no doubt.

Domestically, things have taken a turn for worse for GAMFC of late though as they’ve lost three of their last four games in the Austrian Bundesliga, leaving the gap between themselves and league leaders RB Salzburg now stretched out to 11 points. Can they pull off a shock at the Stadio Olimpico to turn their season back around? You can back the away win at odds of 20/1 with Ladbrokes.

We’re backing a comfortable win for the hosts in this one though. Roma have racked up some goals of late and their opponents will make the trip to the Italian capital in low spirits following five defeats in their last six games in all competitions. Knowing that qualification is on the line, la Maggica cannot afford another stuttering European display here – we’re backing them to bag a few more goals on their way to a comfortable win on a two goal handicap at 6/5 with Ladbrokes.

Young midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo is catching the eye at the Stadio Olimpico this season and we’re backing him to continue to impress with a goal at any time in this one at odds of 8/5 with Unibet.
