Roma vs Istanbul Basaksehir Match Preview
Roma have been in great shape as they beat Sassuolo (4-2) on Sunday and they now host Istanbul Basaksehir hoping to build on the performance which saw Bryan Cristante, Edin Dzeko, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Justin Kluivert all make it on the scoresheet in the first half already.
Giallorossi have thus ended a streak of two consecutive draws, where they were held off by both Genoa (3-3) and Lazio (1-1). They’ve been scoring goals on the regular and will surely come looking for goals once again, as Paulo Fonseca enjoys an attacking approach and wants to see such momentum in this side.
Istanbul Basaksehir have seen a somewhat more disappointing weekend as Sivasspor (1-1) snatched a point at Basaksehir Fatih Terim Stadyumu, where only Edin Visca’s second-half equalizer saved a point. They’ve been unpredictable early on and will obviously need more to cause an upset in Rome.
Okan Buruk was appointed this summer and surely feels the pressure mounting already, with a Champions League Play-offs exit in the hands of Olympiakos (3-0) and just four points earned in four league outings behind them. We have seen goals from them more recently and Basaksehir should pose a serious threat going forward here as well.
We do see Roma overcoming such a challenge, though, and we’ll now stick with them to secure their second win in a row despite an exciting contest looming. We’ll thus go for a Home win and Over 2.5 Goals FT, which comes at Evens with Paddy Power and looks like the best approach to the fixture.
We feel the visitors will get on the scoresheet too, though, and we’ll go for a Yes on Both teams to score at 10/11 with bet365 despite not seeing them snatch points. Roma have had troubles at the back and we should see open spaces on the day as well.
