Roma vs Gent Match Preview
Roma have struggled with a tough schedule and saw four losses in their last five outings, crashing out of the Coppa Italia in the hands of Juventus (3-1) and failing to challenge the Serie A top 4 as Atalanta (2-1) denied them over the weekend. They host Gent desperate for pick-me-ups but have a lot to prove.
Giallorossi have been scoring numbers of goals on the regular but struggled defensively and saw more disappointing losses to Sassuolo (4-2) and Bologna (2-3) beforehand. They will hope the Belgian rivals will not be the same sort of a challenge, though, despite their fine form of recent.
Indeed, Gent don’t seem to have the same depth in quality and will have a lot to prove as they look to build on the eight-match unbeaten streak we’ve seen since mid-December. They bagged six wins and two draws but still sit nine points behind Club Brugge at the top of the table, conceding goals just as regularly lately.
Buffalo’s beat AS Eupen (2-3) with goals from Alessio Castro-Montes and Jonathan David (x2), who has proven his fine form of recent and scored his sixth goal in last five appearances. We thus feel they’ll be no sitting ducks and will surely want a positive result at the Olimpico, promising a run for the money.
We still don’t see them getting it and we’ll now rather back Roma to turn an exciting game their way, ending a winless streak of five in a high-scoring contest as we go for a Home win and Over 2.5 Goals FT at Evens with Paddy Power.
We have seen them lacking defensive stability and with Gent’s fine goalscoring records of recent, we do feel we should see them do their part in making it such a game. We’ll thus also go for a Yes on Both teams to score, which comes at 4/5 with William Hill.
