Roma vs Cagliari Match Preview
Roma host Cagliari for their Matchday 34 clash on the back of a 1-1 draw at Inter Milan and a four-match unbeaten streak, hoping to build on the performances and challenge the Serie A top 4 – as they sit just a point behind 4th placed Milan and 5th placed Atalanta.
Giallorossi have struggled for consistency, though, and were tough to rate even between two halves of a single match, which will be more worrying. They’ve held Fiorentina to a 2-2 draw at this ground and beat both Sampdoria (0-1) and Udinese (1-0) in two very narrow clashes beforehand, which will have Claudio Ranieri looking for more of the same.
Cagliari have secured a mid-table spot and sit huge 15 points behind the rivals but they have team spirits to boast lately as well, where they suffered just one loss (0-2 to Juventus) in six outings since mid-March.
Rossoblu have beaten Fiorentina (2-1), SPAL (2-1), and Frosinone (1-0 most recently) in front of the home fans but they’ve also shocked Chievo (0-3) and Torino (1-1) on the road. This promises them in great spirits and looking for another upset on the day, which has many hoping for another very narrow occasion.
We’ve seen Cagliari end a three-match losing streak in head-to-head clashes in a thriller 2-2 draw earlier this term and we’ll now stick our necks to hold off the rivals once again, as we go for a Draw at 17/5 with William Hill.
Still, we hope to see fewer goals this time around and with that in mind, we’re now also backing Under 2.5 Goals FT at 13/10 with bet365. We’ve seen Roma enjoy such clashes on the regular lately and we now hope for another such occasion, despite not seeing them turn it their way.
