Roma vs AC Milan Match Preview
Roma have been all over the place and saw a thrashing 7-1 loss at Fiorentina midway through the week, now hosting in-form Milan for their Matchday 22 derby clash desperate to recuperate quickly and take over the top 4 spot – which would relieve some of the pressure on Eusebio Di Francesco and his men.
Giallorossi have thus seen their woes on the road continue but they’ve been a tougher side at Olimpico and now search for their fifth consecutive win here, beating Genoa (3-2), Sassuolo (3-1), Virtus Entella (4-0 in Coppa Italia), and Torino (3-2) despite some very good challenges along the way.
AC Milan will be no easy side to outclass at this point, though, and they boast great team spirits after holding Napoli to a goalless league draw and beating them in Coppa Italia (2-0) earlier this week. They prove themselves a tough side to score against time and time again lately and this promises a solid challenge in Rome too.
Rossoneri haven’t been scoring goals as consistently but conceded just two goals in their last seven Serie A outings, which gives Gennaro Gattuso a lot to build on as signings Lucas Paqueta and Krzysztof Piatek largely add to their midfield stability and danger moving forward.
We will now back Milan to build on their success of recent and snatch all three points at Olimpico, sticking our necks out for it at 12/5 with Betfair in hope they can capitalize on the rivals’ woes of recent.
Roma have been scoring goals but doing so against Milan should prove more of a task. With that in mind, we feel the visitors will have to base any success on another rock-solid defensive display as we go for Under 2.5 Goals FT at 6/5 with Unibet – which would be their sixth such head-to-head occasion at this ground in a row.
