Rijeka vs Aberdeen Match Preview
Rijeka host Aberdeen for the first leg of their Europa League Qualifiers clash on Thursday in a great mood and on the back of a three-match winning streak, where they beat Varazdin (2-1), Lokomotiva Zagreb (0-1), and Slaven Koprivnica (3-1) since opening the new 1. HNL campaign.
Rijeka’s Whites have been very tough to beat at this ground and the fact they’ve suffered just one loss here since the last year’s Europa League Qualifiers speaks for itself. They’ve been scoring numbers of goals on the regular and while they have been conceding lately, it will hardly be a great worry as long as the attacking line led by in-form Antonio-Mirko Colak delivers.
Aberdeen haven’t seen a loss in months, though, and will have a lot to build on as well. They’ve beaten Chikhura comfortably in front of the fans at Pittodrie after a 1-1 draw on the road, making their way past Georgia rivals with a 6-1 aggregate win and now hoping for a similar quest in the 3rd Qualifying Round.
Dons have beaten Hearts (3-2) in Premiership in a five-goal thriller with late goals from Sam Cosgrove and Ryan Hedges, kicking off the campaign with three points. They’ve shown off in the final third and now look to make it count on their trip to Rijeka as well.
We don’t feel they have what it takes to cause an upset and while we do see them giving the rivals a run for their money, we will still back Rijeka to earn a narrow advantage through a Home win priced at 4/5 with Coral – which feels like a solid approach at this point.
We should be in for goals and everything points towards an exciting game at Stadion HNK Rijeka, as we now also back a Yes on Both teams to score at 21/20 with William Hill. We have seen Rijeka conceding goals on the regular lately and this feels like great value.
